Medal exhibition at Dundaga Castle
The only permanent medal exhibition in the Baltic countries.

It was set up at the hall of Dundaga Castle in 2008 in cooperation with the Latvian Medal Art Club.
There are works by Jānis Strupulis, Jānis Mikāns, Vija Mikāne (1937 – 2004), Antra Urtāne, Inese Nātriņa and other artists, as well as gifts presented to the authors by foreign artists.

There are also several medals by Lithuanian artists in J. Strupulis' collection. J. Mikāns' collection includes also two medals by an artist in the USA from the series about Michelangelo Sixt Chapel ceiling paintings besides the medals created by himself and devoted to various occasions. Uldis Sokolovskis' collection gives an insight into the orders received by the Soviet time art factory «Māksla», later SIA «Metālmāksla».

In the exposition there are also medals devoted to famous people coming from Dundaga, the Livonian culture worker Jānis Princis (1796 – 1868), the language expert Juris Bārs (1808 – 1879) who was among the first Latvian doctors, the teacher, writer and translator Ernests Dinsberģis (1816 – 1902).
