Meet Your Master in Dundaga Too!
The event "Meet Your Master," organized jointly by the Latvian National Center for Culture Education (LNKC), municipalities, and professional artisans, will take place in various regions of Latvia in 2024, including Vidzeme, Kurzeme, Riga, Selonia, Zemgale, and Latgale. The purpose is to inform the wider public about people, their knowledge, and skills passed down from generation to generation.
In Dundaga Castle, on April 13th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the applied arts collective of Dundaga Castle will also participate in "Meet Your Master 2024" in the premises of the applied arts collective on the 2nd floor!
This year's master will be Iveta Bekmane, a member of the Dundaga applied arts collective.
Participants of the workshops will have the opportunity not only to learn one of the oldest textile techniques in Latvia - the technique of weaving belts but also to learn about its application in antiquity and today.
