Kolka Flounder and Sklandrausis
The Liiv coastline is an area of fascinating interaction of Finno-Ugric and Kurzeme cultures, with its European-level protected nature and cultural territories bordering two seas in a horn-shaped land silhouette coming together at Kolkasrags (Cape Kolka).
The close proximity of the sea has for centuries been a lifeline and way of life for the people – fishing, fish processing and the preparation of traditional fish dishes.
Dundega Region was a runner-up in EDEN competition 2015 Tourism and Local Gastronomy.
